Observant Minds of Hip Hop was born not from a boardroom strategy, but from a powerful, chance of alignment and purpose between two Bronx born creators who shared a common, uncompromising language of Hip Hop culture. The foundation was laid by Publisher Joan Kelly, who held a long-standing vision for a magazine that championed content creators and fostered artistic collaborations. This dream was initially shared with musician and model Marina Marley, also known as Miko, while the twO were on a creative journey developing music videos. Miko, recognizing the magnitude of Joan’s vision, introduced her to rapper Rowstacks, the future CEO.
The Missing Piece and the Village: The partnership crystalized instantly at one of Joan’s content creators collaborations. Joan possessed all the necessary resources to launch the magazine, but lacked the vital element: the cohesive team. Rowstacks filled that void, arriving with what Joan describes as a “whole village”.
His presence was a catalyst; he exposed every counterfeit and made years of held-onto visions come to life instantly, like a missing puzzle piece. Rowstacks is a force of immediate realization, able to make visions manifest “like a microwave,” while others remain stuck in the slow-bake phase, waiting for ingredients.

Understanding and Empathy: He never judges. He listens and understands before seeking to be understood. He is not self-seeking in fact he consistently puts others before himself, and yet shines as the brightest star if you would ever see one.
Culture & Community: Both Rowstacks and Joan hail from the Bronx, the true home of Hip Hop. This shared origin gives them a common language and access to real-life stories most others could never hear.
Unconditional Acceptance: Rowstacks believes fiercely in unity, community, and the beauty of the culture that keeps Hip Hop alive. He accepts artists as they are and encourages everyone to embrace their true self by passing the mic.
