JID Says He Has Turned In One Of His Upcoming Albums

1 min read

JID has only gotten better with every album he has put out. The Never Story, his 2017 debut, provided us a taste of his personality and artistic vision. Although there were some obvious Kendrick Lamar inspirations, it was evident that he had the makings of a distinctive trap artist. Then, in 2018, he released DiCaprio 2, a mixtape that included one hit after another. Nearly seven years later, the run from “Slick Talk” to “Workin Out” is still powerful. However, The Forever Story, released in 2022, is his best work to date. This elevated the standard for what trap records can still be by fusing the two best aspects of his previous tapes.

Projects that balance the trunk-knocking element that fans have come to anticipate from the subgenre are lyrically and narratively driven. It will be difficult to top because it remains one of the best albums of the 2020s. However, JID is one of the few artists who can elevate, thus anticipation for his upcoming album is still very high. After mercilessly hinting at his future move for a year and a half, the Georgia product has given us a more specific response regarding when it will happen.

JID Says He Has Turned In One Of His Upcoming Albums

The rapper from “151 Rum” recently stated in an interview that his upcoming album had “been turned in.” “It is done,” declaring JID. He acknowledged, “It is been a long time in the making… coming really f*cking soon.” However, “My I’s are dotted and all the T’s are crossed.” I have been working on this new world for the past few years, and I believe we are in an excellent position to develop it.” This is fantastic news, and hopefully it implies that a 2025 release date is now almost certain.

But what record is he referring to? His first-person response suggests that it will likely be his next solo album. However, there is a remote possibility that we will receive the Metro Boomin collaboration album that everyone have been eagerly anticipating. After tweeting in March 2023, “Got a lot of new music coming but when me and @JIDsv drop 🔥🔥🔥🔥😵‍💫,” the renowned producer had everyone salivating. Since then, he has been questioned about it a lot and has assured them that it will happen. New JID is always welcome, though.
