Jennifer Lopez Stays Calm as a Cricket Climbs Up Her Neck During Concert: ‘It’s Tickling Me!’

Jennifer Lopez proved once again that nothing can shake her stage presence — not even an unexpected guest from the insect world.

During a recent performance, the superstar handled a rather unusual interruption with grace and humor. In a video shared by an official JLo fan account on Instagram (Sunday, Aug. 10), Lopez is seen performing a heartfelt ballad when a large cricket begins its slow climb from her chest to her neck. Unfazed, she keeps singing flawlessly until the very end of the song. Then, in perfect sync with the fading percussion, she gently removes the cricket and tosses it aside.

Laughing with the audience, she quipped, “It was tickling me!” — a comment that instantly went viral among fans.

The fan account captioned the clip with playful wit: “Plot twist: @JLo just started rehearsals for Kiss of the Cricket Woman… on stage… in real time,” a nod to her upcoming film Kiss of the Spider Woman.

Wrapping Up Her Up All Night Tour

The surprise insect encounter happened toward the final stretch of Lopez’s Up All Night tour, which began in Spain this past July. After a show in Kazakhstan on Sunday, she is set to close the tour on Tuesday (Aug. 12) in Italy.

But Lopez won’t be slowing down for long. She has several shows lined up at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas this December, with additional dates in January and March next year.

Not Her First Onstage Hiccup

While the cricket incident has become a fan-favorite moment, it’s hardly Lopez’s first time handling an onstage mishap like a pro. Recently, during another performance, she experienced a wardrobe malfunction when her skirt unexpectedly fell off mid-song. Without missing a beat, Lopez addressed the crowd with a grin:

“I’m glad I had underwear on. I don’t usually wear underwear,” she joked, turning the potential disaster into a moment of lighthearted fun.

From wardrobe malfunctions to insect surprises, Jennifer Lopez continues to show that no matter what happens on stage, the show — and her composure — always goes on.
