Rumer Willis is ringing in dad Bruce Willis’ birthday with a hopeful update as her father turns 70.
Responding to a broad range of queries provided by fans Tuesday on her Instagram Story, Rumer answered to an inquiry concerning her father’s health, after it was disclosed in 2022 that the Die Hard and Sixth Sense actor was diagnosed with aphasia and would be walking away from performing, with his condition later progressing in 2023 to frontotemporal dementia.
“He’s doing great, thank you for asking,” Rumer remarked in the film. “Please wish my Papa a very happy birthday, as tomorrow is actually his 70th birthday!”
Amid other answers, Rumer also reacted to a question about things she struggles with in daily life, and she admitted that she’s “overwhelmed a lot, recently, by grief,” and spoke about leaning into therapy as she works through anxiety — something she said she felt comforted in dealing with after watching the 2024 animated film Inside Out 2, which includes a character (voiced by Maya Hawke) modeled entirely around the emotion.
The most recent rumor on Bruce’s health follows the 36-year-old’s appearance on the British talk show Loose Women in early February, during which she discussed her father’s support network, which included her, her sister Tallulah Willis, and her mother Demi Moore.
Rumer told the cohosts that Bruce is doing “great,” and termed his network of relatives “so beautiful” for the way they “rally around each other” as a unit.
She also commended Bruce and Moore for their ability to keep up a relationship for their kids despite their divorce in 2000, which occurred 25 years ago.
