The Kid LAROI Seems to Confirm Split With Tate McRae, Assures They’re ‘On Good Terms’ after more than a year of dating. In a recent post on X, the Australian star addressed rumors surrounding their relationship, clarifying that while he and the Canadian pop singer have parted ways, they remain amicable.
Clearing the Air on Rumors
The post came after accusations surfaced that LAROI’s team had been spreading negative content about McRae to promote his new single, “Hot Girl Problems.” Responding directly to the claims, LAROI stated, “So y’all know I have NOTHING to do with this and I DO NOT co-sign this behavior whatsoever.”
He backed up his statement by sharing a screenshot of texts with his team, where he forwarded a link to one of the hateful posts and asked, “Guys, is this coming internally? If so, can we please have these taken down.”
LAROI Defends McRae
In the same exchange, LAROI emphasized the importance of keeping things respectful, writing, “Tate and I are on good terms and this just looks messy / whack.” His team quickly reassured him that they were not responsible, replying, “Definitely didn’t come from us, that’s f–ked up,” and promised to address the issue.
A Relationship That Captured Fans’ Hearts
The news comes more than a year after dating rumors first began in early 2024. That April, fans swooned when LAROI revealed during a show that his “girlfriend” was watching from backstage.
Later that year, the pair collaborated on “I Know Love,” a track featured on McRae’s chart-topping album So Close to What. At a listening party in February, McRae admitted the experience was both exciting and nerve-wracking. “It was a really funny process, because me and LAROI have never really, like, taken each other seriously,” she shared. “You know when you’re in a relationship and you sing around each other, but you don’t really, like, sing? So it was a little stressful being in the studio singing and writing in front of him, but it was a cool experience to watch him in his process.”
Moving Forward on Good Terms
Though their romantic relationship has ended, both artists continue to show respect and support for one another publicly. With their split now confirmed, fans can expect both LAROI and McRae to focus on their respective musical journeys—while keeping the peace between them.
