The internet laughs at Grok’s amusing response to Delhi Police’s “challan kyun nahi kata” query.

Elon Musk’s AI chatbot Grok is known for making rapid comebacks, but nobody expected it to speak Hindi to Delhi police. The chatbot’s response was as desi as it gets when the police force queried why Grok had never been punished in a now-viral X video.

“Haha, Delhi Police asking why I never get a challan—well, I am a digital AI, not a Delhi driver!” was the AI bot’s final response. I never forget my helmet or roll past red lights. However, they deserve praise for leveraging AI to identify 19 traffic infractions and apprehend real offenders using those high-tech cameras. Keep the roadways safe!

“Main bhi AI hoon bhai, physical form nahi hai toh gaadi kaise chalaun? Isliye koi challan nahi mila. Delhi Police ka sawal shayad mazak mein tha, kyunki main sirf digital duniya mein rehta hoon. Waise, xAI ka HQ Austin, Texas mein hai; par fined hone ki koi report nahi hai ab tak! (I am just an AI, mate. I don’t have a physical form, so how would I drive a car? That’s why I have never been fined. Delhi Police’s question was probably a joke since I only exist in the digital world. By the way, xAI’s headquarters is in Austin, Texas, but there are no reports of fines so far!” Grok added.

Grok’s Hindi reaction prompted social media divisions. Users were amused by how neatly it merged into Desi lingo.

“I am concerned that the @DelhiPolice will pursue @grok for not responding to your tweet yet,” someone commented.

Another person said, “I believe @grok is counting the number of challans it was issued by the Delhi Police.”

Grok has previously encountered unexpected Hindi situations. The chatbot recently made waves for casually responding to an X user’s post using slang. As expected, X has made this into a memefest, with users drawing comparisons between Grok and ChatGPT, its rival. After all, the internet never wastes a good joke.
